26th May 2012 is e-Day for all UK websites to comply with the much maligned 'Cookie Law'.  We have been asked so many times what this means to our clients and their websites we thought we'd write a blog about it. The Cookie Law simply states that any site using cookies must from 26th May 2012 gain the express consent of their users to put cookies on their machines.  This doesn't just effect the more complex sites with shopping, banking or personal log-in functionality. One of the most frequently asked questions our new Clients put to us is 'what is a good Click Thru' Rate?' As with any question there are always two answers, the short one and the longer, more detailed version. We thought we'd share both with you here. Please bear in mind that we have been limited in terms of data available for industry benchmarking as most of the current reports available from 2011 are based on 2010 figures. Setting your sites on User Generated Content

We have recently designed and built two sites for two clients in two very different industries. The key commonality is that both sites/clients rely on the general public to upload and maintain the information on their databases. Without user generated content, neither site has a raison d'être.
