One of the most frequently asked questions our new Clients put to us is 'what is a good Click Thru' Rate?' As with any question there are always two answers, the short one and the longer, more detailed version. We thought we'd share both with you here. Please bear in mind that we have been limited in terms of data available for industry benchmarking as most of the current reports available from 2011 are based on 2010 figures. Come on guys, the digital world is supposed to be able to respond in a blink.

A Big Thank You From Eaves

For the past four years Firecracker have been running an internal Christmas initiative with the Eaves Foundation.

Eaves have shelters in London where victims of domestic violence are able to ‘disappear’ with their children from abusive spouses/partners. Often they have had to run in the middle of the night with the clothes on their backs and a favourite toy, nothing else.

The shelters offer a safe haven for 10-12 weeks until somewhere more permanent can be found for the families. They are out of contact by necessity from their friends and family.

Making online simple for developing communities

Firecracker have been busy beavering away on a project on behalf of Ubuntu aimed at getting millions of people in third world communities online. Codename 'Jumpstart' we have developed a communications programme which simply instructs users on how to conduct all manner of online activities, from sending an email to searching the world-wide web. It is being rolled out in up to 16 languages including Mandarin and Cantonese.

Monster UK, who recently won the NORAS 2011 award for best recruitment website, is once again leading the way with their Augmented Reality Christmas card designed and developed by digital agency Firecracker.

Working closely with Aurasma, Firecracker have developed a printed Christmas Card, where the Aurasma app's interface recognises the image and augments it with exclusive video content – an industry first.
